Venturebuilding through ecosystems​​​

Xplorico is first and foremost a venture builder. We create and co-create companies,

platforms and environments that help entrepreneurs turn ideas into businesses and

businesses into scalable ventures.

Over the years, our role has grown beyond individual companies. Successful ventures need

access to customers, talent, expertise, networks and capital – and places where those

connections can happen.

From events to ecosystems

An important chapter in our story was Xplorico Communities, an independent event company behind major technology events including Oslo Big Data Day at BI Norwegian Business School and AIM North at OsloMet. The events attracted more than 1,000 participants each time and built strong networks across technology, entrepreneurship, research, business and investment.

The pandemic changed the market for large physical conferences. The major events were discontinued and Xplorico Communities eventually ceased operations and closed in may 2026. The networks, however, lived on and formed the basis of many new entities.

Today, many of these relationships are part of the wider Xplorico and DigitalWell Ventures network. Event concepts such as Investor Breakfast Club, TWIST Reverse Pitching and DigitalWell Ventures Demo Day continue to bring startups, investors and industry together.

Co-creating DigitalWell Ventures

Xplorico was one of the co-creators of DigitalWell Ventures, an accelerator built to help startups validate their businesses, become investment-ready and scale within the HealthTech space. Today, DigitalWell Ventures has developed into an international accelerator with a strong network of entrepreneurs, investors, companies and innovation partners.

It is a good example of how we think about venture building: create something with long-term value, build the right team and network around it, and help it develop beyond its original founders.

Building vertical ecosystems

Today, we increasingly work through industry verticals where innovation requires deep domain knowledge, strong networks and access to the right customers and partners. Our main verticals include HealthTech, Public Sector, Energy and Cybersecurity.

Rather than applying the same model everywhere, we build partnerships and networks around the specific needs of each sector. This connects startups with relevant industry expertise, pilot environments, customers, investors and specialist ecosystems.

In Cybersecurity, Xplorico and DigitalWell Ventures have taken another step by co-launching a dedicated cybersecurity accelerator at KTH in Stockholm in autumn 2026. Another initiative in the making is StartFuze, an Entreprenurial arena for the energy sector.

The approach builds on what we have learned from venture building and acceleration: combine a strong vertical ecosystem with entrepreneurs, domain expertise, customers and capital.

From temporary events to permanent arenas

The experience from Xplorico Communities also led to another idea. Instead of bringing an innovation community together for a few days each year, why not create a place where those connections can happen every day? That became SCAALER Innovation Arena.

The first SCAALER opened in Arvika in 2019 and expanded further in 2023 with a brand new space, with approximately 650 m² purpose-designed area as an innovation environment for entrepreneurs, companies and organisations, positioning Arvika as a bridgehead into the EU from Norway. SCAALER is now expanding to Karlstad, taking over the former Trafikverket premises in Expositionshuset at Hamnplan 5, an iconic building dating from 1860 in Karlstad's harbour area.

SCAALER Karlstad

SCAALER is not a traditional co-working space. It is an innovation arena bringing together companies, startups, investors, academia, the public sector and some of the region's leading innovation organisations.

The Karlstad community includes innovation clusters, startup incubators & accelerators, public sector organizations, corporates, alongside technology companies, entrepreneurs and other partners. SCAALER Karlstad will open in november 2026 with a few members allready being operational at our premises.

The idea is simple: put people with different skills, networks and resources close to each other – and create more opportunities for collaboration, business and innovation.

The Xplorico model

Today, the different parts of our journey connect. Xplorico builds ventures. SCAALER builds the physical innovation environment. DigitalWell Ventures accelerates startups. Our vertical ecosystems provide domain expertise and market access. Our events and networks connect entrepreneurs with investors, customers, industry and each other.

Sometimes we build companies. Sometimes we co-create accelerators and platforms. Sometimes we build communities and the places where those communities meet.

But the objective remains the same: Bring the right people, ideas, business opportunities and capital together – and create the conditions for new ventures to grow.
